Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Healthcare Leadership Program (HLP), candidates must have:

  1. Successfully graduated from a medical school recognized and licensed by the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education (or the equivalent in the case of physicians who have been licensed abroad)
  2. Successfully completed or are in the final year of completing a family medicine residency program
  3. Complied with the requirements of the Certificate of Continuing Medical Education(CME)/Continuing Professional Development
  4. Fluency in Armenian with strong oral and written language skills
  5. An intermediate knowledge of English
  6. The ability and willingness to commit to the program and its requirements
  7. Be available to take part in a summer intensive boot camp Program in June-July 2025.

 

Successful HLP candidates also possess the following qualities

  • A commitment to the concept of equitable access to health care for the entire population
  • Foundational understanding of leadership qualities  
  • Outstanding academic, professional, and volunteering achievements
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve complex problems even in the face of uncertainty
  • Ability to adjust to changes and willingness for continuous learning and professional growth
  • Organizational and managerial skills
  • Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and flexible

Responsibilities and time commitment

Taking part in the Healthcare Leadership Program is a serious commitment and requires significant investment from its participants. As part of HLP, Doctor-Leaders are expected to:

·      Commit to spending 10-12 hours per week participating in webinars, self-guided learning, and project work.

·     Undergo preceptorship sessions 2 days/month with faculty members

·     Take part in quarterly 2-day in-person meetings every 3 months.

·     Carry out an improvement project in their practice with support from HFA faculty
